10/25

What science ideas did you learn?

-motion is relevant(two objects)
-left and right is a relative direction
-north, south, east, and west are concrete directions

How did you learn these ideas?

-by discussing in class
-doing experiments

Why is it important to know this idea (What real world application is there)?
-it is important to know this idea so we can apply it to other situations such as when two objects are moving the idea that motion is relevant can help explain the situation from each person's point of view

10/18

What science ideas did you learn?
-normal line
-the eye flips an image like the flame on the wall, they both pass through such a small hole that the image flips
-different density to different materials changes the way light refracts
-when light enters a prism it doesn't reflect and refract only once it does it a lot times

How did you learn these ideas?
-by going around to stations and trying different experiments
-discussing in class

Why is it important to know this idea (What real world application is there)?
-it is important to know these ideas because we can use it to explain other science ideas
-a real world appplication is that we can use the info we learned in class to apply it to when there is a straw in a cup the light refracts off the straw and in turn the straw looks bent from refraction

10/2

What science ideas did you learn?

-that light bounces a an angle of incidence and angle of reflection that are the same

-Particle model of light

-different surfaces hve different levels of reflectiveness

-some objects light passes through and reflects off

-light particles are called photon particles

How did you learn these ideas?

-by experimenting

-discussing in class

Why is it important to know this idea (What real world application is there)?

-future tests or quizzes

-when water with a straw is hit with light the straw appears to be bent(refraction)
